Lower Makefield Woman's Club

Lower Makefield Woman's Club is a group of talented and committed women who are dedicated to helping the local Buck County community through supporting non-profits by hosting fundraisers.

On Thursday, May 15th LMWC members gathered to celebrate our 75th anniversary. As the year progresses, we will invite the community to help us celebrate! It is amazing to think that this group, created three quarters of a century ago by a group of young women chatting in their backyards, has survived through wars, natural disasters, social unrest, and an epidemic of world-wide proportions. We did Zoom and outdoor meetings during COVID and kept the club thriving. We have a history of helping the community through fundraisers and donations. This year we are supporting two wonderful non-profits: A Woman’s Place and Bucks for Kids. Two of the club’s earliest community support efforts involved helping with the Polio Vaccine Clinics by and support to disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Diane in 1955.We look forward to another wonderful 75 years.Below is a photo of past and present club Presidents. All proceeds go to the two charities and attendees were able to purchase lovely jewelry as well. The event was held on Wednesday, March 26. See MoreSee Less
